About the Treaty Database
The Treaty Database contains information on the treaties to which the Kingdom of the Netherlands is a party. The information includes the date on and the place at which the treaty was concluded, the date of its entry into force, where to find the text, the parties (countries, territories and international organizations)
with the date of each party’s ratification, its applicability to the European part of the Netherlands, Aruba, Curaçao, Sint Maarten and/or the Caribbean part of the Netherlands (Bonaire, Sint Eustatius, Saba), any reservations, declarations or objections that may have been made, and relations between the different treaties.
Depositary treaties
The Kingdom of the Netherlands is the depositary for around 100 international treaties. A depositary has the task of ensuring the proper administration of a treaty: that is, managing information about a treaty’s entry into force and termination, the parties to it, and reservations and declarations that have been made.
